Working at QuarryBio has been one of the best decisions I made in my undergraduate career, offering me unparalleled opportunities for growth and success. Through this experience, I have honed my scientific reasoning skills and cultivated effective communication abilities. The impact of this experience on my professional and personal development is indelible and will continue to shape my journey for a lifetime.
My time at QuarryBio taught me some of the most valuable lessons I have learned that are applicable to my professional and personal life. During my time at the lab, I had the opportunity to work alongside brilliant interns and to be mentored by Mr. Graban. At the lab, we were never handed exact answers to our problems. Instead Mr. Graban taught us to think critically and conduct our own research in order to learn how to effectively problem solve and work as a team. To this day, I am beyond grateful for the emphasis Mr. Graban placed on making valuable connections and cultivating relationships to support yourself as you head into your professional career.
Working at QuarryBio has allowed me to get experience working hands on in a lab where I was able to see experiments through from the the beginning stages of searching through scientific papers for a good method we could use in the lab all the way through to conducting that experiment and seeing a final product. It was a great environment of motivated people excited to conduct research and is an amazing opportunity for those who are interested in pursuing a career in research.
My experience at the lab was incredible. Mr. Graban was enthusiastic each and every day, and he inspired me to work just as hard as he and the rest of the team did. Even though I don’t plan to pursue the subject we were researching while I worked there in the future, I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to work at the lab and it helped me fall in love and want to draw even closer to scientific work.
